Why do AP Courses?
Once students pass the basic course requirements, they are encouraged to expand on their achievements through Advanced Placement courses. Advanced Placement courses are offered in various areas of study including Social Science, English, Natural/Physical Science, Mathematics, and World Language. Many of the AP students receive college credits as a result of their performance in the Advanced Placement examinations.
Advanced Placement is a program run by the College Board (the makers of the SAT test) that allows students to take special high school courses that can earn college credits and/or qualify for more advanced classes when they begin college. Taking an AP course and passing the test is a sign that students are capable of handling college-level work, which will strengthen their college applications immensely.

The number of advanced courses students choose to take should depend on their academic interests and schedule. The AP courses can only be taken one per semester. We will provude a personalized AP course plan to students interested.
AP exam is basically testing all what the students learned in an AP class. Students will typically earn college credits if they pass the exam given at the end of the year in May. AP tests are scored between 1 and 5, with anything above 3 considered passing.
